Summary:

ThePhysical Security Manageroversees and directs the physical security program for DARPA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

  • Develop programs of action and milestones to implement physical security enhancements

  • Manage budget and schedule to meet program requirements

  • Supervise 3 or more personnel in the performance of physical security functions

  • Complete NSA approved courses of instruction in COMSEC Custodian, Local Management Device/Key Processor, Data Transfer Device (DTD), Red/Black Separation, and Fundamentals of TEMPEST

  • Certify as a Level 1 Alarm Technician

  • Oversee installation and maintenance of CCTV, Passive Infrared devices, access control systems, and lock systems.

  • Implement principles of sound attenuation and compensatory measures

Non-Essential Duties:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the physical security staff.

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in security or a related field, such as law enforcement.

  • Four (4) or more years supervising three or more people in the performance of physical security functions in a classified DoD environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop programs of action and milestones and to develop and meet budget and schedules

  • Thorough knowledge of equipment common in the physical security environment, such as CCTV, Passive Infrared devices (PIRs), access control systems, intrusion detection systems, combination locks, etc.

  • Knowledge of sound attenuation principles and compensatory actions

  • Knowledge of DoD Regulations 5200.1, Appendix 7, and 5208

  • Knowledge of DoD Manual5105.21-M-1

  • Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal forms

  • Must have and maintain a Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SAP and SCI access

  • Successful completion of ICD 705 or DCID 6/9 course

  • Demonstrated managerial skills resulting in the effective utilization of resources and personnel to include creating a cooperative and efficient work environment

  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Must have demonstrated excellent skills in customer relations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of DoD and other directives pertaining to physical security requirements in a classified environment

  • Skill in satisfactorily dealing with customers

  • Skill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment

  • Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook.

  • Ability to certify as a Level 1 Alarm Technician by the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association, or other recognized certifying authority
