Summary:

  • TheEESOH-MIS Hazmat Specialistwill be responsible for conducting installation user training in the various EESOH-MIS modules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

  • Perform a wide range of database administration functions within EESOH-MIS while ensuring data is accurately entered at satellite hazardous material locations and shops.

  • Will serve as the liaison between the installation and the EESOH-MIS Help Desk and Data Stewards.

  • Reviews chemical hazards related to products and promotes the use of non-hazardous material when possible.

  • Reviews technical order directives to substantiate requests for acutely hazardous material prior to approval.

  • Process customer data requests and managing hazardous material authorizations, generation of hazmat tracking labels, and insuring empty container records are properly closed out.

  • Conducts inspections of shop hazardous materials to insure only authorized materials are being used.

  • Participates in the installation HMMP Team activities as appropriately identified by the installation.

  • Develops custom reports to support environmental reporting requirements.

  • Manages installation user accounts and access authorization forms for EESOH-MIS users.

  • Serves as the alternate 270-Day Hazardous Waste Central Accumulation Site (CAS) manager during absences of the primary.

  • Properly identify, label, store, and manage hazardous waste containers.

  • Appropriately complete hazardous waste facility and container inspections.

  • Conduct weekly inspections ensure proper segregation of incompatibles.

  • Conduct EESOH-MIS user training.

  • EESOH-MIS liaison coordinating actions with Help Desk and Data Stewards.

  • Assist with DD 2875 submissions and maintain authorized user forms.

  • Submit user profile data/permission updates or transfers.

  • Retain all DD 2875 forms for reference or inspection.

  • Maintain an active user list with shop code, shop name, user name, telephone number, shop supervisor and contact number.

  • Assist customers with submission and review of hazmat authorizations.

  • Review chemical hazards related to products and promote pollution prevention.

  • Validate support documents for acutely hazardous authorization requests.

  • Create and update training material for Installation Specific training aids.

  • Maintain Intermec EasyCoder PM4i barcode printers and alternates.

  • Validate Manufacturer, trade name, size and units of material with MSDS.

  • Generate and/or coordinate processing of reports required by installation.

  • Conduct shop inspections to insure use of only authorized materials.

  • Complete HMMP team duties as required.

  • Develop custom reports to support environmental reporting requirements.

  • Serve as Alternate 90-Day Central Accumulation Point (CAP) Manager.

  • Manage hazardous waste in accordance with regulatory requirements.

  • Complete appropriate hazardous waste inspections.

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Candidate must have a high school diploma or a GED.

  • Must possess a minimum of one year experience in AF-EMIS, EESOH-MIS, or equivalent database administration experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in DoD hazardous materials operations and tracking material receipt, storage, and issue is beneficial.

  • A solid understanding of Material Safety Data Sheets/Safety Data Sheets and Hazardous Material identification and management is highly desirable.

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and qualify for the appropriate security clearance.

  • Ability to follow established procedures and carry out assignments independently, although work is primarily in an office environment that is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, incumbents may be subjected to rain, cold, bright sun etc.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of EESOH-MIS and/or relational databases.

  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft software products is required to include Excel and Access.

  • Have a specific awareness of data quality in regards to a relational database and report generation.

  • EESOH-MIS or AF-EMIS specific training is a plus.

  • Must have a working knowledge of Crystal Reports or other database report generators

  • Must pass background check and have, or be able to obtain NACI.
