Summary:

· Instructional Designer/Courseware Developer(ISD/CWD) is responsible for the design, development, and production of innovative and engaging online training content that incorporates mixed media such as graphics, animation, text, audio and video using a working knowledge of instructional design and commercial content development software tools. Develops Level 2, 3, & 4 Interactive Computer Based Training products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

· Uses the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) process and methodology when developing courseware.

· Incorporates theories of adult learning, Blooms Taxonomy, and interactive training techniques into online courses.

· Analyzes target audiences, job tasks, learner environments, and existing content to identify appropriate instructional strategies and develop measurable learning objectives.

· Designs and develops e-learning courses and/or learning modules using multimedia e-learning software that meet SCORM and AICC compliance standards and sound instructional development strategies.

· Assists writers and production staff in the development of script/storyboards and production of media assets (graphics, text, audio, and video), respectively.

· Creates online courses by integrating the use of appropriate media assets to optimize learning using sound instructional design principles.

· Works effectively and collaboratively with other Department staff (Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, Sales, IS/IT, and Client Services).

· Works effectively and collaboratively with client and Subject Matter Experts (SME) in curriculum and course development.

· Develops multiple courses simultaneously.

· Uses proprietary and off-the-shelf authoring tools (Articulate, Storyline, others) when developing online courses.

· Keeps projects on schedule and within budget.

· Researches and cites work to ensure accuracy of content

· Manages client expectations.

· Understands and applies Air-Space Command and Control principals into content structure.

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

· Associates Degree required

· 5 years of recent work experience in Instructional System Design and Interactive Multi-Media Instruction for Department of Defense agencies and the same amount of experience integrating Scaleable Content Object Reference Module (SCORM) content into Learning Management Systems.

· Must have and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) process and methodology for using it.

· Possess a solid understanding of both Learning Management Systems and content integration with Learning Management Systems.

· Proficient in the use of the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

· Be a detail-oriented, self-starter, and self-motivator.

· Ability to work well independently with minimum supervision, setting priorities, and demonstrating excellent project leadership and management skills.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced and creative environment.

· Ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance
