Summary:

  • The Sr. Financial Analyst will analyze monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports to ensure financial information has been recorded correctly and applies accounting principles to analyze financial information and to prepare financial reports. The Sr. Financial Analyst will use cost accounting, financial revenue, and profit projections in a government contracting environment and will perform complex financial analysis and reporting in order to monitor finances associated with business operations.

  • Provide accounting functions, financial reporting, and analysis support.

  • Responsible for various financial functions such as budgeting, auditing, forecasting and analysis.

  • Participate in the preparation of budgets and developing indirect rates and perform and/or assist in financial analyses such as funding profiles, EAC’s, revenue analysis, and variance analysis.

  • Collect and review financial data from various sources.

  • Create, maintain, and update financial databases and spreadsheets, and generate various financial reports as required.

  • Perform “what if” financial analysis of direct and indirect projects to include projected staff hours, contract totals, revenues, and profit totals.

  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation.

  • Support managers in managing, tracking, monitoring, and reporting financial data as requested.

  • Identify problems and work to resolve them as well as to prevent future problems.

  • Make recommendations to management and other staff members to improve the financial performance of the organization.

  • Conduct audits and analysis of direct and indirect costs; review practices and procedures, ensuring that labor and non-labor charges are approved, allowable, and processed in a timely manner.

  • Assist in monthly financial reporting for all subsidiaries

  • Attend annual training in Deltek and/or WAWF

  • Adhere to and support all accounting and finance control procedures.

Non-Essential Duties:

  • Assist on special projects as required.

  • Other duties as required to meet business needs.

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Finance/Accounting or related field.

  • 5 years’ experience with a background working within both federal government accounting and corporate systems.

  • CostPoint experience preferred

  • Substitution of additional relevant experience for stated qualifications may be considered.

  • Must be able to pass a Background Investigation.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point, and SharePoint.

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills are preferred.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are preferred.

  • Strong mathematical and reasoning skills.

  • Must have the ability to research and analyze complex information.

  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
