Summary:

Chenega Professional & Technical Services (CPTS) is seeking a Network Engineer to provide network infrastructure support services to the Department of Navy’s Commander, Operational Test and Evaluation Force (COMOPTEVFOR). The Network Engineer will provide installation, configuration, testing, and technical support services to the Enterprise Architecture Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

  • Provide daily technical support and troubleshooting of problems as required for all network infrastructure devices to include but not limited to Juniper routers, Juniper EX switches, FortiNet firewalls, FortiNet Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) gateways, and McAfee SMTP gateways.

  • Make configuration changes that have been approved by the Enterprise Architecture Team Led for all network infrastructure devices to include but not limited to Juniper routers, Juniper EX switches, FortiNet firewalls, FortiNet SMTP gateways, and McAfee SMTP gateways.

  • Install software updates as required for all network infrastructure devices to include but not limited to Juniper routers, Juniper EX switches, FortiNet firewalls, FortiNet Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) gateways, and McAfee SMTP gateways.

  • Review applicable DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and make required configuration changes quarterly IAW these STIGs for all network infrastructure devices to include but not limited to Juniper routers, Juniper EX switches, FortiNet firewalls, FortiNet Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) gateways, and McAfee SMTP gateways.

  • Install, configure, test, and implement new network infrastructure devices to include but not limited to routers, switches, firewalls, and gateways as required.

  • Create an IPv6 deployment plan for the COMOPTEVFOR unclassified network and execute by configuring IPv6 on all network infrastructure devices to include but not limited to Juniper routers, Juniper EX switches, FortiNet firewalls, and Fortinet SMTP gateways.

  • Update network diagrams as necessary using Visio 2016.

  • Provide a monthly status report which contains the progress of work on assigned tasks and future work plans for the upcoming month.

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing the network infrastructure of an enterprise network.

  • Juniper Network Certified Professional (JNCIP) or Expert (JNCIE) and have experience administering or configuring FortiGate Firewalls.

  • Shall meet the applicable cyber security certification requirements for an Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II.

  • Active Top Secret security clearance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with configuring and maintaining FortiNet devices such as FortiGate, FortiMail, and FortiWeb.

  • Experience with configuring and maintaining Jupiter EX switches, and routers using JUNOS.

  • Experience with configuring and deploying IPv6 on network infrastructure devices.

  • Must have attended training classes in FortiNet technology to include Firewall, VPN, Proxy and Email. Additionally how to implement PKI CAC within the network environment.
