Summary: TheLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) will provide outstanding patient care and attention.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

  • The LPN must have the knowledge and sufficient skill to understand nursing principles, practices and procedures; patient disease entities; ethics; interdisciplinary treatment/care plans; interpersonal and teaching skills; use of medical equipment, medical materials and supplies for the purpose of carrying out vital signs monitoring, referrals and identification of illness in patients whose age may range from 17 years to 60 years.

  • Among their tasks are: Immunization, Vital Signs (BP, Pulse, Respiration), obtaining and recording height and weight measurements, EKG, and taking active part of the patient counseling and guidance in the process of PHA, SRP. All annotation and entry of services into the DD Form 2766- Adult Preventive and Chronic Care Flow sheet or appropriate document.

  • Perform medical histories, physical examinations, and reviews of required medical tests and documents pertaining to consultations and medical histories on applicants.

  • Arranging (but not performing) Medical consultations to include but not limited to orthopedics, psychiatry, ears, nose and throat specialty, dermatology, internal medicine and dental.

  • Will accomplish the specified quantity and quality of work within the schedule and hours allotted herein.

  • Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.

  • Will not provide any health care services beyond the scope of the physical examinations and reviews of required medical test and documents pertaining to consultations to medical histories, not shall they provide medical advice or recommendation. The only exceptions to provide on-site emergency stabilization and/ or treatment to the applicant until emergency medical service arrive.

  • Will not conduct physical examinations and not give any advice to applicants regarding their Armed Forces choice of service.

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Must have successfully completed all education and training requirements leading to and graduated from an accredited national, state or military equivalent school for Practical/Vocational Nursing.

  • Must have a current, valid, unrestricted Nursing License to practice as an LPN.

  • Must possess and maintain a current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of standardnursing care principles, procedures,and practices.

  • Knowledge of emergencymedical procedures.

Must have working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications as well as experience with Electronic Medical Records.
