Summary:
Chenega
Professional & Technical Services (CPTS) is seeking anApplication Subject Matter Expert 2to provide support to NASA -
AMES Research Center (ARC) within the Information Technology Services. TheApplication
Subject Matter Expert 2will be responsible for the lifecycle process from
application development and migrations to the integration and implementation
completion.
Essential Duties
and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities

- Coordinate
with analysts, integrators, and developers to create IT specification documents
for various applications.
- Responsible
for the application lifecycle from requirements gathering through
implementation of data analysis solutions.
- Provides
design development of projects involving application development, migrations,
and additions to existing applications.
- Provide
technical knowledge and analysis of applications and operational environment,
high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation,
training, and implementation advice on complex problems, and effective implementation.
- Reviews
application in progress development to ensure compliance with overall design
parameters and development standards.
- Build
enterprise application migration strategies and ensure architecture related
processes and standards are followed.
- Develops
technical and security specifications for the targeted application/workloads.
- Responsible
for building, designing, and implementing a number of scalable, cloud-based web
application for laaS, PaaS, and SaaS to support deployments, including service
roadmaps and inventory accordingly.
- Research
and development on emerging cloud, infrastructure, and virtualization
technology tools, and capabilities, including evaluating processes to improve
speed, efficiency, and scalability on cloud(s).
- Provide
expertise on reporting application performance analysis as well as reports
performance tuning.
- Tune
performance or existing applications to improve load run times, resolving
bottlenecks, and optimizing applications.
- Develops
and/or reviews development of test protocols for testing application before
user acceptance.
- Reviews
test results and directs further development.
- Support
and troubleshoot scalability, high availability, performance, monitoring,
backup and restores of difference environments.
- Provide
technical support to currently released applications.
- Analyze
service failures, understand root cause and articles and types of documents as required.
- Design
and prepare technical reports, studies, and related documentation, charts, and
graphs to record results, prepare and deliver presentations, training, and
briefings.
- Work
independently across multiple platforms and applications to understand
dependencies.

Qualifications:(To

- Bachelor's
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related
field.
- Ten
(10) to Eleven (11) years of experience with Two (2) of those years of
experience as a Programmer, Developer or Analyst.
- Must
have extensive server virtualization and cloud experience.
- If
directly supporting Cloud based work, MUST be CCSP certified.
- Must
be able to obtain required NASA badge.
- Must
be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport,
or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if
this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
- Must
have, and maintain, a valid driver’s license.
