Summary:

Chenega Professional & Technical Services (CPTS) is seeking a Project Manager II to support the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER), Office of Translational Sciences (OTS). This individual will provide project management support services from initiating, launching, controlling, managing, evaluating to completing numerous projects. The Project Manager II will support a project to improve the management of OTS projects and processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

  • Participate in kickoff meeting with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and relevant OTS Management Team to discuss scope of work and contract deliverables.

  • Define projects, including defining scope, time, costs, and resources.

  • Facilitate project related communication for inter-office and inter-center stakeholders.

  • Manage projects with shared resources and budgets.

  • Initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close projects.

  • Advise on current or anticipated risk and issues regarding projects.

  • Organize meetings, prepare project plan, take minutes, develop timelines.

  • Document notes, action items, and next steps for planning meetings.

  • Monitor and track project status updates, follow-up, and action items for completion with documentation.

  • Provide documented and oral status updates and reports regarding progress, setbacks, and concerns to senior management of ongoing projects weekly.

  • Prepare and assist in the facilitation of project workshop(s).

  • Prepare weekly status reports on accomplishments for various projects.

  • Prepare final report on ongoing project status, to-do list, and projections for project completion.

  • Provide workflow and job aid as required for projects if needed per COR.

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • BA/BS and preferred 8 years of experience.

  • PMP certified.

  • Have proficient use of standard Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
