Summary:

TheSoftware EngineerSenior develops and maintains enterprise tools (ServiceNow) based on requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

· Provide technology solutions and integration for initiatives for the EMCSS Technology Roadmap.

· Provide technical expertise in support of the migration to new ITSM, IT Operations Management ITOM including Server, Network and Application Monitoring.

· Analysis, design and development of content interchange data models and schemas for new engineering activities that increase interoperability.

· Develop requirements and procedures to be followed by system owners whenever new sources are brought into the enterprise.

· Coordinate with system owners to plan and implement interfaces to non-standard systems that must be integrated into the whole.

· Maintain two database instances on a shared Oracle RAC platform.

· Solely responsible for developing and integrating monitoring tools into BMC Portal and Proactivenet applications. Tools mostly written in Ruby, Perl, Cshell, expect, PowerShell or python and utilities and daemons mostly written in Java. Some development and modification of existing code running in a JBoss AS environment.

· Act as Responsible Engineer for ‘Back end’ data gathering tools.

· Extensive troubleshooting into the minutiae of BMC software and second order effects due to continuous monitoring of resources.

· Responsible for writing extensive documentation concerning lessons learned and procedural guides for monitoring specific devices.

· Generate and then automate methods for collating and reporting data trends in an easy to understand format for use by management and government personnel for the purposes of gauging capacity and performance.

· Regularly manipulate large collections of data to extract meaningful metrics.

· Software Development Perform full life cycle development.

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

· Masters’ degree (in Computer Science or related field) and 15 years of experience; An additional 6 years of relevant work experience may be used in lieu of degree.

  • Experience developing and maintaining enterprise Engineering requirements

  • IASAE II: CISSP (or Associate), CASP CE, CSSLP (Upon hire or 6 months from Date of Hire to obtain one of the certs listed).

  • TS/SCI required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Knowledge of A&A support for projects and technical exchange meeting

· Skills in ESM Development and ServiceNow experience preferred.

· Ability to obtain IASAE II: CISSP (or Associate), CASP CE, CSSLP up hire or within 6 months from date of hire.
