Summary:

Electronics Technician IIIhas expertise in the installation, service, repair and maintenance of electronic security systems. Must be certified, trained and experienced in the installation, repair and troubleshooting of AMAG Access Control and Bosch Video Surveillance Systems. Duties are to be performed at multiple domestic government facilities in the National Capital Region.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

  • Reading and interpreting electrical and security drawings and schematics

  • Reading and interpreting building plans (blueprints)

  • Use of electronic security test and repair equipment – meters, OTDR, etc.

  • Low voltage electronic security systems

  • Bench test/repair of electronic security equipment to the component level

Specialization Duties and Responsibilities:(to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform at least three of the following essential duties satisfactorily with emphasis being PACS, IDS and CCTV).

  • Mechanical and Electronic Locking Hardware – HES, Von-Duprin

  • Pedestrian and Vehicle Access Control Systems – Boon Edam, Delta

  • Closed Circuit Television Systems / Video Surveillance Systems – Avigilon, Bosch, Genetec, Salient

  • Physical Access Control Systems – AMAG, Hirsch, Lenel, MDI, Softwarehouse

  • Walk Through Metal Detectors – CEIA, Rapiscan

  • Intrusion Detection Systems – Ademco, Bosch, DMP

  • Public Address and Mass Notification Systems

  • Intercom Systems – Aiphone, Talk-a-Phone

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • (to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform all essential duties and at least three of the Specialization duties satisfactorily.)

  • At least six years’ experience in non-residential electronics installation & troubleshooting is required with a high school degree; Or

  • At least four years’ experience coupled with Graduation from the US Navy or Air Force Electronics Training Program with a minimum of 720 class room hours or Graduation from an Accredited Electronic Apprentice Program with a high school degree; Or

  • At least three years’ experience with an AA/AS in Electronics from an accredited program; Or

  • At least two years’ experience with a BS/BA in Electronics from an accredited program.
