Summary:

  • The Construction Manager shall work closely with the GSA team for a major elevator renovation project in Washington DC as the GC Contractor Lead.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

  • Manage and coordinate the activities of the CWS Construction

  • Develop a working knowledge of all technical requirements of the projects

  • Develop and keep current, the Project Execution Plan and cost loaded construction schedule to establish the means to execute, monitor, and control projects

  • Prepare written reports, correspondence, and in briefing clients and management personnel.

  • Prepare Monthly Progress Report summarizing project status

Non-Essential Duties:

  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • 10 # of individuals/position

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management

  • 7 years of Construction experience

  • Experience in preparing written reports, correspondences, and in briefing clients and management personnel.

  • Experience in the actual inspection of construction materials, workmanship and installation systems.

  • Experience in conduction inspections to resolve problems on construction projects and briefing Government personnel.

  • Current CQM Certification issued by USACE/NAVFAC is a plus

  • Secret Clearance required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Understand Construction Management procedures, including the ability to understand different project scheduling software.

  • Knowledge of construction practices and techniques including experience in proper installation methods construction materials

  • Ability to inspect materials, workmanship, and construction and installation of various systems

  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing.

  • Ability to compute construction costs for contract modifications and experience in material takeoffs for construction work and pricing the value of that work for equitable contract adjustments.

  • Ability to interpret engineering, architectural plans and specifications.

  • Successfully understand the fundamentals of current construction contract law and possess the ability to interpret construction contract drawings and specifications and far clauses.

  • Knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, materials and methods, and industry design standards

  • Strong working knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical and electrical work.

  • Strong Knowledge of the sequencing of work and the strategy of creating effective project schedules.

  • Basic understanding of leed requirements
